About us
Iván Fanego Herráez
What prompted you to run at this company? I spent 2008 in Bulgaria, working for the Economic Office of the Spanish Embassy. I made a report about franchising in Bulgaria and I found it really exciting, but I noticed there was few information, and really difficult to find. Most of the data I used came from online newspapers and an interview I hold with the Marketing Director of BULFA (Bulgarian Franchise Association, see the report for more details). I noticed too, there wasn’t an online guide of franchises, similar to Tormo or Whichfranchise. So once I was back in Spain, I decided to solve this. I called my friend Daniel (we studied together in the University of Salamanca, and worked together in Madrid), who was working in Ireland, and he felt excited with the project. So, we started it, and here we are!
What could be your greatest moment of satisfaction in this company? My aim is simple. I want Bulgaria Franchise Network to become the reference for franchisers and franchisees in Bulgaria. If we can create a community around this, I would be really satisfied.
What have you gained from doing this company? A lot of experience in Websites.
What have you been working on recently? Currently, I am working for a Spanish Hotel Chain as Innovation Analyst. I just created my personnal blog ( www.ivanfanego.com ), and I am learning about social tools, Web 2.0, networking, … And tourism and hotels, a new world for me.
What are your long-term goals? This is a difficult question. Five years ago Daniel asked me the same. My answer has nothing to do with my current life (and his neither, of course). I want to feel proud about the things I do, I want to make eassier people’s life and business, and I would like Bulgaria Franchise Network to be the first step in that direction.

What prompted you to run a this company? After graduating with a degree in Economics from Universidad de Salamanca, I am a sales professional in the IT industry. I moved from Salamanca to Tilburg, then Madrid, Athens, and Dublin. In these cities I got a practical insight into the diverse environments, international opportunities, great training, and mainly the range of intelligent, commited and fun people that I worked with. All of that together with the customer point of view gave me the chance to share it with some other people.
What could be your greatest moment of satisfaction in this company? Probably it has already happened. I would say to get the commitment of the people which different backgrounds, cultures, ages and projects to do this.
What have you gained from doing this company? I’ve gained a whole range of skills and a lot of sector and industry knowledge from studies, training, and curiosity.
What have you been working on recently? I spent some time recently in how to use new social tools to get closer to the customer and related to the development of countries, but also I am also involved in my team blog.
What are your long-term goals? At some point in the future, I would like to be in an influential position in the political sector, maybe related with the development. Because things can change and will be. Between now and then, I’d like to work in doing my own business for some time and possibly do an M.B.A. I’d also like to take care of some good friends that probably will not come with me in all this way.
